The
Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers |
Denali Rainbow Village RV Park and Motel is located just one mile north of Denali National Park entrance. The motel offered 5 types of rooms (some with full kitchens and a large beautiful suite.) All rooms had a full private bathroom. The Hotel gave a 10% discount for Good Sam, Seniors or Military. All motel rooms were non-smoking. There is a $250 fee for smoking in the room. Pets NOT allowed. Access to the rooms was obtained by putting a code in the door lock, which is easier than a room key that could possibly get lost. The two RV Gypsies parked in the RV Park in 2009, but this year, 2016, they were in the motel due to their RV being in repair in Fairbanks. The motel had TV plus Wi-Fi access. Rates were for two guests. On this date, extra guests were $10 each for adults and $5 each for children under 18. The hotel is surrounded by mountains, but the mountains could only be seen from outside the hotel, not from inside the rooms. On this date, check in time was after 3 p.m. Check out time was 11 a.m. Cancellation policy: $30 fee if done 96 hours prior to arrival. Less than 96 hours is one night's deposit.Do NOT contact the two RV Gypsies for reservations. This page is just for the purpose of documenting the travels of the two RV Gypsies. Any information stated above is subject to change if the motel so desires. |
Below: This is listed as a budget hotel. On this date, the rate for one room was $272.85 for two nights. As in many Alaska hotels, the air conditioning consisted of an electric fan (see the above photo with the fan above the standard not-so-fancy closet). There were suites with kitchens, but the two RV Gypsies and Karen's sister just got a standard room. Their daughter and son-in-law had the room right next door. Both rooms were on the second floor. |

Below: The hotel entrance is right behind the Country Mall which has an array of different businesses. Some of the shops include: flight seeing, river rafting, digital photo services, Alaska souvenirs and gifts, restaurants, espresso, park and wildlife information, jeep rides, ATV tours, ice cream, fax/e-mail services and more. The two RV Gypsies recommend buying and using the Toursaver book for discounts. |

The above comments do not make the hotel good or bad in general. Comments are just the opinion of the two RV Gypsies on said date. |
